This DIY submission method allows you to collect leaf tissue using basic supplies you already have, ship samples at your convenience, and still receive fast, reliable results.
Sample Submission Guidelines (Using Your Own Materials)
To ensure accurate results and prompt processing, please follow these guidelines when submitting samples to Veracell Labs:
Sample Collection & Packaging
– Collect a small piece of healthy young leaf tissue from each plant.
– Place each sample in a sterile coin envelope or pouch — plastic bags are not recommended for long transit times.
– Label each envelope clearly with a unique identifier (e.g., Plant #1, Sample A, etc.) that matches the names listed on your submission form.
Submission Form
– Download and fill out the Sample Submission Form
– Make sure all samples are clearly matched with their listed identifiers.
– Place a printed copy of the completed form inside the package with your samples.
– Email a digital copy of your completed form to: orders@veracelllabs.com
– Once received, you will get a submission confirmation email with the shipping address.
Shipping
– Package your samples securely in a padded envelope or small box.
– Customers are responsible for all shipping costs.
– We recommend using a tracked shipping method to ensure safe and timely delivery.
Payment($10/Sample)
– Payment must be made at the time of shipment to ensure your samples are processed without delay and you receive your results as quickly as possible.

Step 1
Labelling
Upon receiving your SmartStartDNA kit, unpack all components is a usable manner. Begin by labelling all items with your unique identifiers. Label the collection tubes and plant markers with corresponding identifiers.
Step 2
Sample Collection
Using a labelled collection tube, align the leaf with the line located on the collection tube lid (This ensure alignment with the leaf cutter located opposite of the hinged side)Place the tip of leaf approximately 1/2" inside collection tube and close the lid over the leaf. This will clip the end of the leaf into the tube. Place the corresponding plant marker.
Step 3
Shipping
Once all collection tunes have been filled, ensure caps are tight and place back into the bag they were received in. (If not done so already) fill out included order form completely. Place order form and collection tube bag back into the blue bubble mailer. Place included return shipping label on front of package and ship!
Step 4
Results
Results will arrive via the email address provided on the order form within 24 Hours of receipt to Veracell Labs.
